Basically you:
- chop some garlic and parsley
- put it in a pan wide enough to fit clams (we had to use a deep frying pan, because my casserole wasn't wide enough)
- pour some olive oil in a pan
- pour some white wine and mix it so it all looks a bit like a broth
- put clams in a pan (for 2 people 6-7 clams is more than enough)
- cover it for around 5-6 mins and let it boil. I don't really know which temperature, on my oven it was around 6-7.
- start feeling the amazing smell, open the pan - voila! Clams are open!
- take them out - somehow shell is not hot at all, and you can take them with barehands
- take out the clams out of their shell, also no problem with barehands
- chop the clams, put them on a plate, pour some broth leftovers and put some cut parsley to look nice
That's it!! We really spent like 15 mins the most! Could be less, but we were watching Friends at the same time:)
I'd post YouTube video we used, since it's really the best and super easy to understand.
For those who live in Dublin or around, I bought them in Howth for 13 euro a kilo, and a pack of 10 or so clams was around 8 euros. A bit more expesive than usual mussels, which were at a ridiculous price of 2 euros per kg. One day we need to make an early bird trip there and get to the wholesale market, but even 3 times lesser price so far cannot make me wake up at 5 AM.
And here's the final result:
